ANTARCTICA: The Coldest Continent

Antarctica is the coldest, driest and windiest place on our planet. It is the fifth largest continent and also the biggest cold desert. Its landscape is covered with ice. It receives just 2 inches of rain a year. Antarctica has world's 90% of the ice. The winter temperature can drop between 14 to -22 ℉ but the summer teperature can rise up to 32 ℉. Antarctica has active wildlife such as penguins, seals ,octopus, whales etc. Vegetations like lichens, moss and algae have adapted themselves to survive in icy cold conditions. Many contries have set up their research bases in antarctica to study the harsh weather, wildlife and meteors from outer space.
